Lost for Losing Weight?

Vitality and beauty are gifts of nature for those who live according to its laws. Leonardo da Vinci

Often tired, never thin? Sick and tired of looking and feeling sick and tired? Baffled why losing weight doesn’t come easy and seems to get harder with age? It could be what’s at the end of your fork, the size of your spoon and how well you chew your food.

Today’s over consumption of fast and processed food has left many malnourished, overweight, sick, tired, and walking around looking and feeling far from their best. Many are dying a slow suicide by feeding their taste buds and not their body. Aging less AND weighing less is no secret when you take care of yourself.

Prolonging life for me includes:

  • eating healthy (most days of the week and hours of the day)
  • regular exercise (and bowel movements)
  • seasonal cleansing – just like our vehicle every few months…

These are what keep me jowl-less, my eyelids visible, and my belly smaller than my bottom. These three parts of my body always let me know when I am overdoing it – thank God for built in gauges!

Savor the taste to lessen thy waist…

Lost For Losing Weight?

Don’t be fooled by “Fat Free” or any other attempt at a food label trying to look and sound healthy. Certain logos stamped across products can actually be purchased, whether true or not.  The cost of cheap and/or convenient food is your health.

Fat free products may not have “fat” in them, but quite often they still include sugar – sugar turns to fat in the blood, feeds infection, and parasites love it!

Getting more wrinkles than you would like? Many facial wrinkles can be avoided by eating real food, food providing optimal nutrition. If you are waking up to puffy eyes, face, hands, toes, or anything in between… over time wrinkles appear. One night of eating sweets can puff me up – what’s worse is when the puffiness subsides… wrinkles appear. This yo-yo of inflammation and deflation stretches our skin.

Sure there are other reasons for wrinkles (sun, drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc), but diet is huge. Losing weight does not have to be a mystery. Simply eat healthy most days of the week and hours of the day. What is eating healthy consist of? Mostly food without labels, local food, foods that are in season. Top that with ample amounts of water and “diet” can be a thing of the past. Water can be anywhere from drinking half your weight in ounces to drinking one ounce per pound of body weight.

Anybody can lose weight on fewer calories, why pay someone to tell you that?

Organic For WEIGHT LOSS?

real food doesn't have labels...

Natural, breathing, living, alive, biotical… what do these words have in common? They all mean the same thing – ORGANIC!

Buying organic not only tastes better, it can get you looking and feeling better. Buying local organic saves you money and the planet. Why pay for their long haul trip to the store and pollute the air further? If you need to lose weight, eating organic can help. The chemicals used to put pounds on livestock do the same for humans.

If you were to build your dream home, would you use the cheapest materials you could find? I wouldn’t, nor would I eat or create a child with cheap fake food. THINK LONG TERM!!!

Still doing all your grocery shopping at the store? The 4 outer walls have what’s left of real food. Want to save money? Visit your local Farmers’ Market and/or join your local Community Sustained Agriculture (CSA).

Consider getting your loved ones or community involved in growing your own organic garden – you’ll be happier, healthier, and a tad bit wealthier for it!

Portion Control… do you practice it?

It takes discipline and will power to eat only when hungry and stop when satisfied. Seems like everywhere we turn… people, places, and products are being super sized.

Many people go as far as counting calories or weighing food. I prefer to keep it simple by merely eating healthy most hours of the day and days of the week. I also stop before I am full – that’s it! I don’t own a scale and don’t care to own one. My clothes and mirror let me know when I’ve over done it. For those of you who do prefer to have a visual on portion control, I came across the following on www.womentowomen.com

“You have a great portion control tool right at hand — your own hand!

* Your thumb = 1 oz
* Your palm = 3–4 oz
* Your closed fist = 1 cup
* Your thumb tip = 1 tsp
* A handful = 1–2 oz of snack food, like nuts

Whatever you do… don’t let your vanity lead to insanity. If you look and feel good, WHO CARES WHAT THE SCALE SAYS!

Cooking Less To Weigh Less

Ended my Master Cleanse… easing my way back to eating. Summer is a great time to do an extended fast because we tend to eat less.

This last Master Cleanse was a very powerful cleanse. Mind and spirit were renewed beyond any other cleanse I’ve done, and I’ve done a lot! Attending 2 funerals this week also had me “thinking” a lot.

Not sure how much weight I lost, don’t own a scale, don’t care, and don’t need to lose weight. I’ve helped clients who base their progress entirely on their scale. If you eat healthy most hours of the day and days of the week, weight will never be an issue.

Don’t let your vanity lead to insanity!

Cooking less to weigh less is not a diet… Read the rest of this entry »
