Medical Marijuana – to heal or deal?

Here in Los Angeles, medical marijuana shops are springing up left and right. The city is suing 3 collectives and looking to evict another 18. The landlords of these have apparently broken compliance laws.

Heal or Deal?

Law aside… who does the marijuana help most? From first hand experience I saw it help my brother back in the early 80’s. He was 16 and sicker than sick in bed the day after chemotherapy. Thankfully he stopped his chemo treatments and is alive to talk about it today.

Prescribing marijuana has turned into “give an inch and they take a mile.” It has not only been abused for ailments from A to Z. The opposite end (the “dealers”) are making a ton of money. A lot of green thumbs have sprung up because of it.

The good, the bad, and the ugly of it?

  • Good – used properly, it can help people with chemotherapy side effects.
  • Bad – being prescribed for much more than the relief of chemotherapy treatments.
  • Ugly – the obvious greed behind it, not to mention the people driving under the influence of it has killed and paralyzed some.

My thought on it? Many herbs used in moderation (with supervision) not only offer relief, but can in fact be healing and even life saving! We need to get to the root cause of the physical, mental, emotional pain. We do not need to medicate ourselves happy (or pain free). We do not grow in our comfort zone. We can live long naturally healthy and happy lives. A wholesome diet, detox and knowing your purpose are key in taking care of you!

What Are Your Negative Emotions Trying to Teach You?

We mustn’t ignore or mask our negative emotions, but instead learn from them. What are they telling us? How can we use them to move us closer to what we want?

Far too many people make the mistake of masking, ignoring, or numbing themselves to what their negative emotions are trying to call forth. Are we not taking care of ourselves… not giving our heart what it truly desires? Aren’t you worth knowing what your purpose is?

We can choose to see the glass half full or half empty. Use our circumstances to become powerful or pitiful. I for one do not care to be around those who enjoy a pity party more often than not. We become like the people we hang out with.

A few emotions to ponder…

ANGER – what are we withholding from ourselves? What are we depriving ourselves of?

ENVY – a signal that we desire the “thing” we are envious of…

SADNESS - quite often a voice of loss

DEPRESSION - a signal we are suppressing our desires, our wants,  and our life force.

DISCOURAGEMENT - our hopes unfulfilled

FRUSTRATION - energy that is lying dormant or misguided

CONFUSION – a sign we are in the process of learning something

Ahhh… we do not grow in our comfort zone – isn’t it time you Live Long Naturally and On Purpose?

All emotions serve to teach us powerful lessons, if we will only listen. Carolyn McCormick

Still Taking Aspirin to Keep Blood Thin?

A Physicians’ Health Study which involved 22,000 people showed that people who took aspirin regularly, were not only at greater risk for hemorrhage strokes, they suffered twice as many brain hemorrhages than those who did not take aspirin.  Please know… this does not mean prescription drugs are any better.

Quite the contrary… anti-coagulating drugs like Plavix and Persantine have side effects like such as: leukemia, extreme fatigue and aplastic anemia. Aspirin though considered “safer” than pharmaceuticals is still responsible for side effects of it’s own… holes in stomach and/or bleeding of the GI tract… OUCH!

Why not avoid all the above problems and benefit from safer remedies? Ginkgo Biloba does exactly that! Some of the benefits include:

  • Enhances memory
  • Protects brain against effects of aging
  • Helps prevent degenerative brain disorders
  • Contains antioxidants
  • Increases blood flow through many arteries
  • Alzheimer’s patients have gotten impressive results
  • Contains flavonoids to protect blood vessels
  • Inhibits (PAF) platelet-activating factor
  • Being used to treat memory, learning, and behavior problems

Consider talking to a physician knowledgeable (and smart enough) to help you wean yourself off aspirin and/or anti-coagulant drugs. You’ll not only feel better, you’ll have money to spare by purchasing ginkgo biloba instead. Best to buy organic or wild crafted in bulk form from a reputable source. No need to pay for fancy packing and labeling if you don’t need to!

Why Buy The Cow When You Can…

Get The MILK FOR FREE?

There are many milk substitutes such as almond, hazelnut, soy, rice, oat, raw or coconut milk. They are delicious and can be used in place of pasteurized cow’s milk. If you must have animal milk, make it goats or raw milk from a reputable source. Dairy products are very mucus forming. I give my three-year-old grandniece raw milk (and other milk substitutes). Not only does she love them, she is one of the few at her daycare WITHOUT a runny nose.

Note* I am not a fan of too much soy anything. It is known to mimic hormones, which can create a host of health problems. Choose your milk wisely… listen to your gut.

I do believe their are pros to drinking milk, however… it starts with being breast fed. Why give a child formula and increase their risk for Type 1 Diabetes (and more), when you can boost your child’s immune for FREE the way nature intended? “Convenient” fast food can cost you your life.
