MSG = Mood Swings Galore

MSG… AKA Monosodium Glutamate. It’s sole purpose is to make cheap poor quality, and often times fake food taste like real tasty food. However, it does so at the expense of your health, brain, behavior and more. It is a short term “solution” to long term detrimental problem. You can spend less on food, but expect the money “saved” now to be spent on medical bills and pharmaceutical drugs later.

Got headaches? Try eating real home cooked meals for a week and see what happens. Your memory not what it used to be? Read labels and avoid foods with MSG – it has been linked to problems such as Alzheimer’s.  Has your child been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD? Start feeding them real food and see what happens.

The problems are endless, the “cures” are many by deciding to eat or omit MSG. Eating healthy does not have to cause confusion or cost a fortune. A few organic grains, fruits, veggies and other wholesome foods bought in bulk can transform your health, and make eating healthy easy and very affordable. In general, food without labels is healthier – they may not have a long shelf life, but they’ll help lengthen yours.

~~peace, love and REAL food~~

Got a Junk Food Junkie In Your Home?

Children are not the picky eaters parents make them out to be. Last year I had the wonderful opportunity of caring for 4 grand nieces and nephews. I found after weaning them off the junk food, which only took a couple of days, they came to love REAL food – they also craved structure.

We crave what is in our blood, and it starts while children are in the womb. Many pregnant women eat everything BUT wholesome foods. Instead of using pregnancy as a green light to get fat, let it be the beginning of a wonderful, healthy life for you and your child.

Think long term on the health of you and your child. A healthy radiant child can’t possibly be created out of boxed, fast, canned, bagged, or processed food? There’s a reason women miscarry and children have behavior problems. Begin feeding your children wholesome foods to give life to the brain and body the way nature intended. Schools are chock-full of hyperactive medicated children. This doesn’t have to be! This is common sense stuff, but I am surprised by how many parents feed their kids everything BUT wholesome foods! This sets them up for craving unhealthy foods as an adult. Your food can be your pharmacy!

You wouldn’t build your dream home out of scraps would you? Then why build a junk food junkie!?

Can Your Blood Determine How Long You Live?

Homocysteine is a type of protein that is found in our blood and used as a marker for cardiovascular disease, cancer, stoke, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and other degenerative diseases.

Without proper nourishment, homocysteine can build up in our blood causing various life threatening problems, many of which those age 50 are at higher risk of. With optimal nutrition, our body can naturally turn this protein into glutathione, one of the most important antioxidants and S-adenosylmethionine, a nutrient for the brain and blood. A buildup of homocysteine in the blood also increases the risk of plaque leading to athersclerosis, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. However, it can be metabolized with B6, B12, and folate and the following dietary recommendations:

  • Eat less fatty meat (4 servings or less) and more fish (3 or more times a week) and vegetable protein (5 or more times week).
  • Eat a combination of 5 or more servings of fruits or vegetables a day.
  • Eat a clove of garlic or take a garlic supplement daily.
  • Do not add salt to food, if desired use Solo salt, which has less sodium and more potassium and magnesium than regular salt.
  • Have no more than one cup of coffee or two cups of tea daily; drink herbals teas or grain coffees instead.
  • Mayo Clinic suggests a diet that includes green leafy vegetables and fortified grain products. They state supplements may help as well.

A high-strength multivitamin and mineral supplement that provides the following homocysteine lowering nutrients, vitamins B2, B6, and B12, folic acid, trimethylglycine, and zinc. Vitamins A, D, E, and 1 gram of C are recommended as well.

Still Taking Aspirin to Keep Blood Thin?

A Physicians’ Health Study which involved 22,000 people showed that people who took aspirin regularly, were not only at greater risk for hemorrhage strokes, they suffered twice as many brain hemorrhages than those who did not take aspirin.  Please know… this does not mean prescription drugs are any better.

Quite the contrary… anti-coagulating drugs like Plavix and Persantine have side effects like such as: leukemia, extreme fatigue and aplastic anemia. Aspirin though considered “safer” than pharmaceuticals is still responsible for side effects of it’s own… holes in stomach and/or bleeding of the GI tract… OUCH!

Why not avoid all the above problems and benefit from safer remedies? Ginkgo Biloba does exactly that! Some of the benefits include:

  • Enhances memory
  • Protects brain against effects of aging
  • Helps prevent degenerative brain disorders
  • Contains antioxidants
  • Increases blood flow through many arteries
  • Alzheimer’s patients have gotten impressive results
  • Contains flavonoids to protect blood vessels
  • Inhibits (PAF) platelet-activating factor
  • Being used to treat memory, learning, and behavior problems

Consider talking to a physician knowledgeable (and smart enough) to help you wean yourself off aspirin and/or anti-coagulant drugs. You’ll not only feel better, you’ll have money to spare by purchasing ginkgo biloba instead. Best to buy organic or wild crafted in bulk form from a reputable source. No need to pay for fancy packing and labeling if you don’t need to!
