Pesticides Know No Boundaries

Researcher at the University of California Berkeley found that pregnant women exposed to pesticides (organophosphate type) are more likely to have children with attention problems such as ADHD. There are a lot of causes and chemicals that can cause ADD or ADHD, just as there are a host of other problems that can arise from pesticides. From allergies, to asthma, disease and more.

Pesticides were created to kill, reduce or repel – why would someone in their right mind pay to not only spray something with them, but eat food tainted with them?  Their mind was lost to begin with, and attention not given to consequences. I once helped a man who suffered from pesticide poisoning. He knew exactly when it happened and said he has never felt the same, yet he couldn’t quite pinpoint what the problem was, and neither could his doctor. A family member recently became allergic to avocados. I offered her an organic one, she ate, and wouldn’t you know… she was not allergic!

Not only is organic much tastier, it is healthier for you, your brain, and the planet. Consider paying yourself forward by buying organic. It is was nature intended… health insurance without the use of drugs, invasive procedures, medical bankruptcy, or the premature loss of life.

Curing Incurable Diseases

What doctors refer to as an incurable disease is quite often a disease found in its later stage, one that they refer to as not having “caught it in time.” This of course, is, as seen in the eyes of conventional medicine. Doctors who truly know the miracles of the body, know any disease can be won without the use of drugs or invasive procedures. What is critically important as well is the patients state of mind and spirit, and not only of their body. The patient must believe it as well, then take action.

A diagnosis all too often precedes a prognosis (AKA death sentence). Being told we are going to die within a set amount of time should be against the law and never be accepted or expected. This alone is killing people. After both my parents were misdiagnosed, they were given their “death sentences” and both were gone  sooner than told. This is no way to live, let alone be close to the ideal mindset needed to begin healing.

We are each equipped with built-in gauges to warn us of failing health, something not quite right. An unfortunate problem is many haven’t a clue how to read and listen to their own body’s signs and symptoms. Their body, mind, and spirit are blocked, numb and riddled with aches and pains that the majority of the population has unfortunately come to accept and expect. Isn’t it time we pay more attention to the engine that drives us? God forbid we put a french fry or spoon of sugar in our gas tank. Curing a so-called “Incurable Disease” can be done – what we believe, we can achieve. For some, some this may mean emotional healing, whatever the root cause, we can survive and thrive despite any prognosis or odds against us!

Puberty or Hormone Fed Breasts?

A study done at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center found that U.S. girls continue to reach puberty at an earlier age. They also state they haven’t a clue why, but state obesity may be a culprit. They’re calling it a trend. What they may consider doing is comparing girls who eat non-organic foods to those who eat only organic. They may be surprised to find that the hormones and steroids used to “pump up” the animals larger and faster may very well be doing the same thing to young girls. Not only will they reach puberty sooner, menstruation, perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause equally be affected not as nature intended.

I’ve seen young loved ones go from being optimal weight on an organic diet to becoming obese and developing breasts practically overnight, with that comes the onset of menstruation. Where is the childhood in that? It doesn’t end with girls or women in general, men and boys are growing breasts and prostrate cancer is on the rise. What hormones and steroids do to animals, they do to humans with an even more  detrimental health effect. The amount of money saved in buying non-organic can cost you your life. Why age faster and die sooner when we can live long strong naturally healthy lives?

A higher body mass can be a culprit, but the real culprit lies in the food causing the obesity and the early onset of puberty.

Chock Full of Seeds

I’ve recently discovered an excellent way to mildly flavor my water and cleanse and energize my body. Because I am going through “the change” (perimenopause), I’ve been adjusting my diet and heeding the advice of experts in the field. Not the advice of Western medicine, but instead the advice of Dieticians and female physicians. A male physician can only tell us so much, and yes their advice may be helpful, however I truly believe experiencing perimenopause gives us a little more credibility in treating it.

I found the following recipe in the book, Eating Wisely For Hormonal Balancing, by Sonia Gaemi. This recipe is used to help balance hormones, however, it helps cleanse the  body and liver as well, so it is safe for men and women. It is best to locate organic and/or wild crafted seeds when possible. If difficult to locate, try Middle Eastern, Chinese, or Indian food stores. See below for seed information.

SONIA’S SEEDS FORMULA

A) 1 1/4 cups khak shir seeds (also known as mugwort)

B) 1/4 cup basil seeds

C) 1/4 cup psyllium seeds

D) 1/4 cup flaxseeds

E) 1/4 cup black sesame seeds

Mix and store seeds in dry cool place – I store mine in dark glass in refrigerator.

Serving Size

4-6 tbsp in 2 cups water (or unsweetened cranberry juice or berry juice w/o artificial sweeteners) daily – seeds can be added to water bottle and sipped throughout day. Be sure to chew seeds well.

or…

eat 1 tbsp. at a time and wash down with 2 glasses of water

or…

take 2 tbsp. with every meal – can also be added to yogurt or pureed fruit and washed down with 2 glasses of water.

A). Khak shir/Mugwort – used for menstrual disorders, to cool body, cleanse liver, persistent vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, anxiety and depression. Do not use if pregnant or bleeding disorders.

B). Basil – used as an antiseptic, antiinflammatory, to treat ulcers, arthritis, renal disease, edema in joints, and temporary relief of coughs, anxiety, and flatulence.

C). Psyllium - encourages normal bowel movement, absorbs bowel toxins, soothes intestinal tract, helps normalize blood sugar, and lower food cholesterol absorption.

D). Flaxseeds – provides laxative effect, high in Omega 3′s and fiber, may help fight everything from heart disease, diabetes, to cancer.

E). Black Sesame Seeds – high in protein, rich in antioxidants, 60% more calcium than white sesame seeds, and rich in vitamins and minerals.

The author describes flax, khak shir, basil and psyllium as the crux of cleansing and energy. Fiber without the calories! The fiber in them binds with environmental toxins and the whole seed helps encourage new cell growth.

**NOTE: whole seeds are not recommended if you have diverticulitis. Ask an open-minded physician. If taken, let soak and chew thoroughly.
