Aging Without a Purpose?
What makes you happy? Does your job make you happy? What makes your heart sing? Knowing these, can be the key to living on purpose, instead of swimming upstream in constant struggle.
Knowing your true purpose is like having a compass that is always facing in the direction of your dreams. Not living a life on purpose can cause suffering in body, mind, and spirit, thereby causing you to age prematurely. In the book, Ageless Body Timeless Mind, Deepak Chopra lists the following as negative factors that influence aging.
- Depression*
- Inability to express emotions
- Feeling helpless to change oneself and others
- Living alone
- Loneliness, absence of close friends
- Lack of regular routine*
- Lack of regular work routine*
- Having to work more than 40 hours a week
- Financial burdens, being in debt
- Habitual or excessive worry
- Regret for sacrifices made in the past
- Irritability, getting angry easily, or being unable to express anger
- Criticism of self and others

Getting your body clean will allow you to listen to what truly makes YOUR HEART SING, thereby helping you live a life on purpose and vice versa – Knowing your purpose makes it easier to take care of your body. Gone can be the days of feeding, medicating, or shopping yourself happy, not to mention far worse addictive (and often fatal) habits.
Health Debate Saga Continues…
What’ll it be? Insurance based, Socialized medicine, Free- market reform? The” healthcare system” does have serious problems, but the #1 problem is people relying so heavily on it! Put your time and energy into eating better and keeping your body clean. Imagine what would happen if you ignored your vehicle… it wouldn’t run smooth or last you long. Your body is no different - EXCEPT… that engine will get you from point A to point B longer than any vehicle. Start listening to the smart engine that drives you and heed the warning signs of your built-in gauges.
Choose to prolong life instead of die a slow suicide. I see many do the latter. They accept and expect to become overweight and disease ridden with age. Then there are those that literally research themselves to death – I’ve seen that as well. 
With the current economy, why not get back to basics? Take control of your health, rather than it control you! LET YOUR FOOD BE YOUR PHARMACY!
Green, Clean & LEAN

Wondering how to go about eating more vegetables? It’s quite simple, inexpensive and good for you! The following are a few tricks I use to give to my grand nieces and nephews.
- Whatever you eat hot, line your plate with some chopped spinach first.
- Use spinach in place of lettuce, and/or add it to soups just before serving.
- Kale Chips – I discovered this recipe from the local CSA that I volunteer for each week. Chop up Kale, spray/drizzle olive oil and sea salt over and bake (at 350) for 5 – 15 minutes (depends on oven). Quite tasty – kids love it!
- Add seaweed to soups or salads, or eat as a snack.
- Steam veggies in a steamer, such as Black n’ Decker. Set the timer, come back and you’ve got perfect veggies every time – it is fool proof! Steamers are also great for your choice of meat, seafood, rice or heating up leftovers.
- When preparing salads or any vegetable dish, use as many colors as possible. The more colors, the more vitamins.
After having 4 grand nieces and nephews live with me for most of 2008, I quickly discovered they are NOT the PICKY EATERS parents make them out to be. The 2 year old wanted 2nds and 3rds of the green foods. I told her I was going to spray all her food green… with a natural dye of course.
Flat Abs and Weight Loss WITHOUT Dieting?
Want to lose a few extra inches (or rolls) without having to starve or do 100 neck and back breaking push-ups and/or sit-ups? The following tips will help get you started…
- Clean your colon – the average person carries around 10 – 15 pounds of old waste.
- Get yourself a hula hoop, a weighted one is even better – 5 minutes a day will get you toned, front and sides.
- Clean your liver – when it is sluggish and clogged it stores fat instead of burns fat.
- Drink more water – a client of mine lost 40 pounds by drinking 1 1/2 gallons of water a day. This was after his weight loss regime hit a plateau. Don’t like the taste of water? You can add lemon, raw apple cider vinegar, chlorophyll, and even ginger slices.
- Savor the taste to lessen thy waist – chew your food slowly, to a liquid on a 9″ plate with a small utensil.
- Don’t drink liquids with your meals – 1/2 hour before or afte
r and preferably water.
You can survive and thrive by taking control of your health, instead of having it control YOU AND YOUR FINANCES…
